Sometimes it’s the everyday that inspires, and this week I made an interesting discovery when I decided to get a few tweets started off by looking up past American F1 drivers. In light of the recent announcement from Austin and the United States F1 Grand Prix, it only seemed natural to have a look at where America has been in the sport, and who’s been involved.
Every sport loves a marquee player, and drivers are a great place to start when understanding the history we’ve had as a country in F1.
What I found was a not only an inspiring career path of innovation, bravery, and driving talent, but also a very American story – meet John Fitch.
America’s lost a connection to pioneers like Fitch, and his rich history amounts to an amazing life in racing and road safety.
